that they found Anisha so quickly?? Don't get me wrong, I love her character and I do see that it was sensible of them to wrap up the plot in one season, given the uncertain nature of streaming shows. However!

I was so counting on having at least a couple Caleb and Nahla two hander episodes a la Will and Magnus in Sanctuary getting into (usually watery) disasters on side missions, where they chased down false leads or whatever. Perhaps these ""leads"" wouldn't even need to be that legitimate or fresh if Nahla wanted to pull him aside For Some Reason 😅 -- either shippy or even just bc Caleb was at loggerheads with teachers or students at the Academy or sneakily removing him from relationship drama... or??

oh well, there's always fic lol! what kinds of Nahleb Side Quests would you guys have liked to see??

I'm not yet caught up so I don't know how I'll feel about it when I see it, but man it feels like Nahla and Caleb barely interacted for so much of the season! It would have been so fun getting some adventures with just them, especiallyyyyy the bottle episode types that Helen and Will got. Those were some of my faves in Sanctuary.

It would've been so easy for a false lead to come through the communication channel Caleb and his mom had and Nahla refuses to let him hunt it down alone because she cannot lose him again. Or for Nahla to need Caleb's street rat expertise with some issue on a random planet he once lived on, only for--oh no! Their shuttle has crashed and they must survive together until help can arrive! Better huddle together to share body heat because Nahla's telling him that Lanthanites are fatally sensitive to the cold! She'd probably be lying so she could touch him, lol, but I also do wish we'd gotten more opportunities for Caleb and Nahla to see each other near death a la Requiem. Force Caleb to realize that despite everything Nahla put him through, he'd be lost if she died... Man. We could've had it all.

i have maybe watched Requiem an embarrassing number of times lately and exactllyyyy. a "make it creative" and attendant Caleb freakout incident would have been amazing! also fr with the handily timed shuttle crash a la whatsit with the giant squid. I would not have put a helen style "you're spending too much time with Tarima and Not Me so we're going all the way over here :) chasing this signal trail that i swear is real/capturing this creature that I swear we can't get any other time :)" move past Nahla at all either.

mb we need a little fic fest of like. the Bottle Episodes That Should Have Been...
